MSW, University of Nebraska at Omaha Associate Practicum Coordinator Biography Konnie Kirchner was born and raised in Omaha, and graduated from UNO in 1991 with her BSSW, and in 1995 with her MSW. Prior to joining the UNO School of Social Work staff in 2005, Ms. Kirchner was employed by Heartland Family Service for nearly 10 years, working primarily in the area of Compulsive Gambling as the lead therapist for the Family Program. She holds her clinical licensure in both Nebraska and Iowa, and is also a Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor in Nebraska. Ms. Kirchner has supervised students in their Practicum experiences and colleagues seeking to obtain their licensure. She has also served as an Adjunct Instructor for Bellevue University’s Human Services Program. Job Responsibilities Konnie is the Associate Practicum Coordinator Activities and Interests Ms. Kirchner has traveled throughout the Midwest presenting workshops related to the treatment of Problem and Compulsive Gambling, including topics such as “Women & Gambling,” “Seniors & Gambling,” and “Treatment Issues with Family Members of Compulsive Gamblers.” She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, Nebraska Chapter. |
